Storage
[toggle_content title=”How does the storage process work?”]

There are two possible ways to store your precious metals with AmsterdamSafe. You can purchase precious metals in combination with storage through our partner (AmsterdamGold). You can also store precious metals with AmsterdamSafe which are already in your possession (at home or at another storage facility).

Purchase from AmsterdamSafe partners:

If you purchase precious metals in combination with storage through AmsterdamGold, you will automatically receive a message from AmsterdamSafe to confirm your purchase. If you do not already have an account with AmsterdamSafe, you will be kindly requested to fill out and return the opening form. You will receive the opening form by e-mail following your first order, but you can also download and print the opening form from the AmsterdamSafe website.

After your precious metals have been stored at AmsterdamSafe you will receive a storage contract. Your storage contract and the associated administration (including our safe location system, your file and corresponding bank statements) provides the irrefutable evidence that your stored precious metals are inalienable economically and legally owned by you.

Store your own precious metals (purchased elsewhere) with AmsterdamSafe:

You can retrieve the opening form from the AmsterdamSafe website or by phone and send them in. However, an account will be opened only after the AmsterdamSafe experts have checked your precious metals for denomination and authenticity.

Only investment grade gold, palladium, platinum and silver are eligible for storage with AmsterdamSafe. Currently, jewellery is not eligible for storage. This ensures the quality and authenticity that AmsterdamSafe offers with storage. For further information about high quality precious metals or to make an appointment, please contact the AmsterdamSafe experts.

Upon the death of an accountholder, AmsterdamSafe will transfer the authority of the account to the legal heirs of the accountholder. Below is the procedure that AmsterdamSafe follows to determine who the legal heirs are.

Single account

On the passing of an accountholder, AmsterdamSafe must be notified immediately. The account will then be temporarily blocked, until it is clear who the inheritors are (this is for security reasons for maintaining the capital of the rightful claimant). The executor should indicate how to proceed regarding the precious metals and send a written notice, in addition to the information below, to AmsterdamSafe by post. Until AmsterdamSafe has received these documents, no new orders can be placed and no precious metals can be collected or sold.

–        Declaration of inheritance

–        Name, address, hometown of the executor

–        Copy ID of the executor

And/or account

When one of the accountholders dies, the other accountholder keeps control over the account. If the inheritors object to this, AmsterdamSafe should be notified immediatly. Upon receiving this notification the procedure as outlined above will be followed.
